QNHS Awards Day

Last March 26, 2010, the QNHS
Awards Day Committee, this year led by the Values Department
under Mrs. Elsie N. Caagbay, SSH VI, recognized the talents of
the QNHS Performing Arts Guild members. This is in relation
with the evident improvement of the students in theater arts
and production development. PAGsters have continuously made
efforts from its rebirth in 2006 (formerly QNHS Dramatics
Club) thru the efforts of Dr. Cristeta Obcemea-Asilo (Bacth
69) to incorporate the various fields of the arts: performance
(theater,music, dance, instruments), visual (painting, props
making, lighting, stage design) and literary (C-PAG: A
literary folio, a collection of works circulated quarterly).
The awardees in the field of theater arts are:

Eloisa Mae Ampeloquio - Best Performance by a Lead Actress
Jeannie Khaye Elma - Best Performance by a Featured Actress
Angelou Marie Sacdalan - Most Promising Lead Actress
Jorge Noriel Venzuela - Most Promising Lead Actor
Magic Kenneth Zarsuela - Best Costume Design
Charlene Wendy Palomera - Best Choreography
John Cedric Mape - Best Lighting Design
Erika Rivera - Best Scenic Design
Francis Dator - Best Set Design
Wencester Reforma - Best Orchestrations
Amiel Malundas - Honor of Excellence in Theater

According to Dr. Arthur Cassnova, author, professor, thespian,
QNHS is the pioneer in high shool stage plays in the
Philippines written in a book by the same. It was Mrs. Zenaida
Nini De Asis (Alumni Foundation) along with friends and fellow
alumni who paved the way to the flourishing of theater arts in
QNHS.
