QNHS Performing Arts Guild does
Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar" |
This is the latest venture of the QNHS
PAG after its transformation from QNHS Dramatics
Club. The rebirth is a reliving of a proud
tradition in QNHS which earned its slate in the
books of history as one of the pioneers in High
School Theater Arts in the Philippines, according
to Dr. Arthur Cassanova, famous writer and
educator.
From Leon Ma. Guerrero's "Wanted: A Chaperon"
(2007), Wanted: Bedspacer (2008), Rodgers and
Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music" (2009),
PAGsters will now brave all odds staging Andrew
Lloyd Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar" this
February. From pre-production to the actual
presentation, the PAGsters are all involved and
are hands-on with every minute details. They are
guided by Dr. Cristeta Asilo, adviser (Batch 69),
Ms. Nora Llegado (Batch 69) and Ms. Elsie Caagbay
(SSH Values Education).
PAGsters are achievers. They fill up the list of
honors in their respective classes, contenders in
different academic, cultural competitions in and
out of campus and provide serivce in their Free
Annual Integrated Basic Theater Workshop (from
Lucena City, Padre Burgos, Quezon to Sariaya,
Quezon)
With the continous support from friends and
enthusiasts amidsts all challenges hurled by their
detractors, they remain proud not only as Quezon
Highers but worthy individuals of their
generation. |

Last August 19th, President Quezon day,
the band paraded throughout Lucena with the new
uniforms financed by the Toronto's Quezon High Alumni
Association. From the old t-shirts they used to wear,
to the new slick made-to-order blue and yellow
uniforms and 5 pairs of leather boots, the 30 band
members and majorettes marched their way to the beat
of the drums and musical instruments donated by class
68th 40th reunion. The band is under the supervision
of Christopher Joy Veluz, faculty member and band
instructor.
