THE COCONUT - 75 years old in 2003

That's 75 reasons why we should gather at Quezon High this year and celebrate!

THE COCONUT belongs to all students and alumni of Quezon High not just to the current and former COCO staffers. So let's all plan on travelling to Lucena in December this year to mark the 75th birthday of our school paper. Just as we did last year - to Toronto for Strides 100 in July and to Lucena for the Centennial Celebrations in October.

From late last year, a circle of ex-QNHSers have emailed each other on how they think THE COCONUT milestone should be celebrated. The group includes Benilda Villenas (68), THE COCONUT Staffers' Association President, Insia Imperial-Sebastian (73), Napoleon Imperial (71), Mil Sevilla-Reyes (58), Belen Tagbo-Mendoza (70), Ma. Teresa Trinidad-Ignacio (71) and Bal Yujuico (68).

Based on the views that have been exchanged, here's an outline of what we can expect during the two-day celebrations. QNHSers who visit this website and who plan to attend the COCO jubilee are invited to help out in any aspect of the program - e.g. promotions, registration, convocation, plenary session, workshopping, etc. - by contacting the undersigned and/or Bal Yujuico.

Former staffers in QNHS year groups that are having their reunions this year are requested to promote THE COCONUT celebrations among their classmates.

Let's aim for a well-attended, mega fun 75th COCO Birthday!
